For only the 2nd time this year I'm posting twice in one day. This won't be a very long one though. Being the trivia geek that I am I have to write this post today because it has to do with the date.
"The 3rd of June" is mentioned in the lyrics of two pop songs from the Billboard Top 40 charts. "Ode To Billy Joe" was a #1 hit for Bobby Gentry in 1967. Ten years later in 1977 Neil Diamond mentioned the date in a song about a "cougar" named Desirre.
Of course I have both of these songs as part of my digital music collection and on my IPod. In case you are not familiar with either of these songs here are links to each of them on You Tube.
