After all that was involved in helping my sister-in-law move last week there's one that has had an immediate effect on our everyday lives. Well, there's two actually. One is relational the other is spacial.
This post is about the spacial change. The picture to the left is a view of our living room as it is now. Aren't my puppy dogs cute?
The couch on the right is from my sister-in-law's old house. Her new place was too small for it. We bought it from her and gave her the recliner from our house.
The reason we decided on the change was to make our living room more accommodating for when we have family get togethers at our house. With the addition of the 2nd couch we now have seating for eight; six of them are recliners.
In order to keep the room from looking too crowded we moved the love seat to the back wall. It had been sitting on the edge of the rug (see picture) leaving a walk through lane from the front door out into the kitchen doorway.
The place I sit when spending time in the room is in the love seat, on the left as you look at the picture. It took some time to adjust to being farther away from the TV but I'm used to it now. Paula's living room spot was the recliner but now it's on the new couch at the seat on the far end. It's not in the picture. If you could see it, it would be in the bottom right hand corner.
We now have a set up that allows us to have family and friends over for dinner and a movie and everyone has somewhere comfortable to sit. We've already had the boys over on Easter Sunday. I'm looking forward to inviting some friends from church in the near future as well. Also I can't wait until my family from Pennsylvania come to visit on vacation in July.
Now that we've rearranged our living room we'll have the perfect place to just sit and relax and enjoy their company.
